In 2021, FLSmidth had 60+ different payroll systems running at once, many inherited through acquisitions. Working with too many local payroll providers created a siloed, cumbersome system that lacked transparency. With limited internal resources, Jesper Oestergaard and Staci Recksiek set out to overhaul this web of local vendors in favour of a single global payroll partner.
