The Challenge
A patchwork of global systems that had become hard to manage
With over 800 employees across the globe, Acquia hired HSP Group as its strategic growth partner. The company’s initial approach to global expansion had resulted in a variety of different solutions in different countries that were becoming increasingly difficult to manage.
The solution
Payroll Consolidation
HSP assumed responsibility for payroll in seven countries, covering an employee population of around 420 — replacing local providers and the EOR service.
Entity Establishment
Where the spread of contractors required it, HSP stood up new entities — in New Zealand, for example, creating an entity, completing employee registrations, and enrolling staff in the social security program.
HR Administration
Beyond payroll, HSP met Acquia's need for HR support in India by making an HR resource available at a key location two days a week.
Compliance
Acting on a gap analysis, HSP brought Acquia into compliance with Japanese employment law requiring employers to track employee time and attendance.
Last-Mile Accounting & Entity Compliance
Within the first year, HSP took over all last-mile accounting and entity compliance across seven countries, and introduced GateWay — its market-leading expansion platform — to replace Acquia's dated legacy system.
